Answer

To find your computer's serial number:

2: Click twice on the line of text below where it says Mac OS X. Continue clicking until your serial number is revealed.

OPTION B: (if the computer is running)

1: Go to the Apple Menu and choose About this Mac

2: Click on the More Info button. System Profiler will open and you'll see the serial number over on the right.

ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS: (can't see screen or computer won't boot)

If you have an iMac, the serial number may be printed on the bottom of the iMac's base (foot).

If you have a PowerBook or MacBook Pro with a removable battery, the serial number may be printed in the battery bay.

If you have an iBook, the serial number is printed below the keyboard (you must remove it to see it).

If you have a PowerMac G5 or a Mac Pro tower, the serial number may be printed inside the side door.

If you have a Mac Mini, it's likely located on the bottom of the computer. If you have a Power Mac G3 or G4, you'll find the serial number label somewhere on the back of the computer.
