To find your computer's serial number:

OPTION A: (if the computer is running)

1: Go to the Apple Menu and choose About this Mac

2: Click twice on the line of text below where it says Mac OS X. Continue clicking until your serial number is revealed.

ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS: (can't see screen or computer won't boot)

If you have an iBook, you'll need to lift out the keyboard to locate the serial number label. Do not attempt this procedure without familiarizing yourself with the process first. If you have a PowerBook, MacBook or other Apple laptop, remove your battery and look inside the case for the label with the bar code on it. If you have an iMac or Mac Mini, it's likely located on the bottom of the computer or the bottom of it's 'foot'. For PowerMacs and Mac Pros, you'll find the serial number label somewhere on the back of the computer.
